Plenty of players have returned to clay courts in the hope of bringing back their winning ways, following the brief grass court stint of the campaign.

A French No.1 and a true showman took home trophies. Here are the key headlines from the tours…

Boisson serves up another milestone

Loïs Boisson enjoyed one of the most memorable Grand Slam runs in recent times at Roland-Garros 2025.

The wildcard, who was outside the Top 500 back in early May, downed three seeds (including Top 10 stars Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva) on debut at her home major en route to the semi-final stage.

Proving her pedigree for this level, the 22-year-old won her maiden WTA title in Hamburg on Sunday, with a 7-5, 6-3 scoreboard over No.7 seed Anna Bondar.

"It’s really tough to win a tournament, so when we did it, I’m really happy with that," said Boisson, who was a break down in both sets. "Just happy, and I hope it will continue like this."

Boisson fell at the first hurdle of Wimbledon qualifying, but her reward for bouncing back in style is a surge up to a career-high ranking of world No.44.

Bublik an all-court threat

Roland-Garros 2025 will also live long in the memory of Alexander Bublik.

The rejuvenated Kazakhstani has been in electric form since March and that built to a crescendo in Paris, launching into a maiden major quarter-final.

The fourth-round triumph over No.5 seed Jack Draper was up there in the top moments of RG25 and even Bublik was holding back the tears on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.

Since then, Bublik dismissed world No.1 Jannik Sinner on the way to ruling the grass of Halle, but left Wimbledon after a first round defeat by Jaume Munar.

With the Swiss Alps as the back drop, Bublik captured his sixth title on Sunday by prevailing past Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to take top honours on Gstaad.

Bublik has now completed the impressive trio of titles on clay, grass and hard courts.

“First of all, Juan, as I told you at the net, this was not tennis. It was complete torture,” joked Bublik.

“This is my sixth title and I have played the greats of the game, but this final I will remember as one of the toughest I ever played.

“It was real pleasure to come here. The beautiful Alps. It’s an amazing spot. I’m really happy that I’m standing here as a winner, but even if I’d lost in the first round, the view is amazing anyway.”

The 28-year-old fended off Alexander Shevchenko, Francisco Comesana and Arthur Cazaux without dropping a set all week until the final duel. Like Boisson, the RG25 star has been given a ranking boost, rising up four spots to world No.30.

Shapovalov and Darderi strike hot

Over in Los Cabos, Mexico, Denis Shapovalov and Aleksandar Kovacevic set up the first tour-level final featuring two players with a one-handed backhand since the 2019 ATP Finals championship match between Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The main trophy flew out with Shapovalov courtesy of the Canadian’s 6-4, 6-2 victory, which earned a fourth title and second of the 2025 campaign.

“We have been working for quite a few years now and it hasn’t been easy coming back from injury. But all the work we’ve done, it is really paying off," world No.28 Shapovalov said, referring to his knee injury of 2023.

“I want to congratulate Aleksandar on an amazing week. He beat some great players. Honestly, I didn’t watch the match (against Andrey Rublev) yesterday, but my coach told me you played insane, so, congrats. I think you are an amazing player. Obviously, us one-handed backhand players, we gotta stick together. Definitely love watching you play."

Bastad in Sweden was the destination for Italy’s Luciano Darderi to start spraying the champagne.

The world No.46 remains undefeated in ATP silverware showdowns, having scooped his third title with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 scoreline versus Jesper De Jong.

Three years in the making for Begu

The Palermo 2022 final was the last time Irina-Camelia Begu was in contention for a singles title.

Not anymore.

Inspired on home soil in Lasi, the Romanian secured a sixth singles title with a 6-0, 7-5 passage past No.6 seed Jil Teichmann

"It’s amazing, an amazing feeling to win another title at home," said Begu, rocketing up 28 places and back into the Top 100 at world No.82. "Winning in Lasi, it’s a dream. I really didn’t expect to win it, but really happy."
