Could it get any better?

It's the rivalry the tennis world is consumed by, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

The top two seeds are set to collide once again, this time in the Wimbledon final, as two-time defending champion Alcaraz hopes to secure a 'three-peat' facing first-time finalist Sinner.

Jannik Sinner (n°1) – Carlos Alcaraz (n°2)

💪 The context / The current form

Carlos Alcaraz, the all-smiles Spaniard is bidding to become only the fifth man in the Open Era to win three consecutive singles titles at SW19, joining Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

24 wins on the trot, 20 Wimbledon wins in a row - Alcaraz is producing Hall of Fame milestones.

Over in Jannik Sinner's corner, 'The Fox' is on the hunt to be crowned the first Italian - man or woman - to lift a Wimbledon singles title. The Italian talisman has already joined the 'Big Four' as the only men to reach the final of all four Grand Slams since 1995. Will his fourth successive major final end in victory?

This is the first time the Wimbledon men's final is being contested by two talents born in the 2000s, they've won the past six Grand Slams between them, this feels like a generational clash.

It's near impossible for Alcaraz vs Sinner XIII to usurp the absolute cinema of their Roland-Garros final a month ago. Alcaraz saved three match points in the most astonishing final escape act in Paris.

Different tournament, different surface, same gladiators.

"I think the things that we are doing right now I think is great for tennis," stated Alcaraz. "We just fight for just engaging more people to watch tennis. We're just fighting for the tennis to be bigger, as all the tennis players are doing."

Sinner echoed that sentiment;  "Of course, we find ourselves in this position again. This is the second consecutive Grand Slam that we are in the final and playing each other, which is great from my side. I believe it's good for the sport. The more rivalries we have from now on, the better it is, because people want to see young players going against each other."

🏆 Their 2025 tournament

Just like all the all-time greats, Alcaraz is peaking at the optimum time. Check the highlights versus Fritz, you won't be disappointed.

  • 1st round: victory against Fabio Fognini 7-5, 6-7(5), 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 (4hrs37mins)
  • 2nd round: victory against Oliver Tarvet 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 (2hrs16mins)

  • Semi-finals: victory against Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6) (2hrs48mins)

Sinner, who was lucky to escape when Grigor Dimitrov retired through injury, dusted off his own injury concerns with a spellbinding dismissal of seven-time champion Djokovic. Any lingering heartache from Paris hasn't been apparent at all this fortnight.

  • 1st round: victory against Luca Nardi 6-4, 6-3, 6-0 (1hr48mins)
  • 2nd round: victory against Aleksandar Vukic 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 (1hr40mins)

  • Semi-finals: victory against Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 (1hr55mins)

🆚 Face-to-face

In a Wimbledon context, these global superstars locked horns at Wimbledon 2022, when Sinner prevailed 6-1, 6-4, 6-7(8), 6-3, in the fourth round. Since then, it's fair to say, these world leaders have taken men's tennis to a different stratosphere.

Alcaraz has dominated their rivalry in recent bouts, conjuring up victory in the past five encounters to lead their head-to-head at 8-4, which has included two five-set blockbusters on the terre battue at Roland-Garros (2024, 2025).

The 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2) scoreboard from the Roland-Garros 2025 final doesn't do their efforts justice. Same again on Sunday please.

🎤 Heard in media

Carlos Alcaraz: "I can't be prouder, to be honest. Just really happy to make my third consecutive final here at Wimbledon playing such great tennis. Just really, really happy. Just can't wait for Sunday.

"I didn't watch again (RG25 final). Just a few clips, few points, but not that much. I still think about that moment sometimes. It was the best match that I have ever played so far.

"I'm not surprised he (Sinner) just pushed me to the limit. I expect that on Sunday just to be in the limit, to be on the line. Yeah, just going to be a great day, a great final. I'm just excited about it.

"I just hope not to be five hours and a half on court again. If I have to, I will. But I think it's going to be great."

Jannik Sinner: "I think if it would be a lot in my head, I would not be in the situation to play a final again," said Sinner with a smile, regarding RG25 heartache.

"I'm very happy to share once again the court with Carlos. It's going to be difficult. Different match, I'm looking forward to it. I try always to put myself in these kind of situations what I really love. Sundays on every tournament are very special.

"I think we evolve as players, and we get better at competitors. So of course, you try to do something different. You don't want to be predictable on the court, so we are going to prepare it in the best possible way.

"He is the favourite. He won here two times in a row. He's again in the final. It's very tough to beat him on grass, but I like these challenges. I like to go head-to-head and trying to see what I can do and what I can reach."
