Jannik Sinner (n°1) – Carlos Alcaraz (n°2)
💪 The context / The current form
Carlos Alcaraz, the all-smiles Spaniard is bidding to become only the fifth man in the Open Era to win three consecutive singles titles at SW19, joining Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
24 wins on the trot, 20 Wimbledon wins in a row - Alcaraz is producing Hall of Fame milestones.
Over in Jannik Sinner's corner, 'The Fox' is on the hunt to be crowned the first Italian - man or woman - to lift a Wimbledon singles title. The Italian talisman has already joined the 'Big Four' as the only men to reach the final of all four Grand Slams since 1995. Will his fourth successive major final end in victory?
This is the first time the Wimbledon men's final is being contested by two talents born in the 2000s, they've won the past six Grand Slams between them, this feels like a generational clash.
It's near impossible for Alcaraz vs Sinner XIII to usurp the absolute cinema of their Roland-Garros final a month ago. Alcaraz saved three match points in the most astonishing final escape act in Paris.
Different tournament, different surface, same gladiators.
"I think the things that we are doing right now I think is great for tennis," stated Alcaraz. "We just fight for just engaging more people to watch tennis. We're just fighting for the tennis to be bigger, as all the tennis players are doing."
Sinner echoed that sentiment; "Of course, we find ourselves in this position again. This is the second consecutive Grand Slam that we are in the final and playing each other, which is great from my side. I believe it's good for the sport. The more rivalries we have from now on, the better it is, because people want to see young players going against each other."
