Another handful of players have successfully negotiated the third and final qualifying round. See you all in the main draw 🥳

Four-time Roland-Garros champion Iga Swiatek has a tough task ahead of her if she is to lift the trophy again this year. Dan Imhoff takes a look at the opponents she could face as she makes her way through the draw at RG2025.
Two players have earned main draw spots from women’s qualifying - Japan’s Nao Hibino and Oksana Selekhmeteva.
Hibino - who saved a match point to beat Bianca Andreescu on Wednesday - took out German 11th seed Ella Seidel 2-6 7-5 6-4.
Selekhmeteva outlasted Serbia’s Lola Radivojevic 6-4 2-6 6-4 to book a place in the 128-player women’s draw.

Earlier this week Chris Oddo met the former world No.17 - and 2016 RG quarterfinalist - to talk about his career.
And what of the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz? If he survives his opening round blockbuster with Kei Nishikori, it could be the dangerous Fabian Marozsan in round two (the Hungarian beat him on clay in Rome in 2023). A fourth round opponent will most likely come from a trio that includes Ben Shelton, Lorenzo Sonego or former finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. It could be Casper Ruud or Tommy Paul in the last eight and the Spaniard is in the same half as No.4 seed Taylor Fritz.
Many were wondering where sixth seed Novak Djokovic would find himself in the men’s draw. He opens against American Mackenzie Mcdonald, while the first seed he would meet - in theory - is Denis Shapovalov in the third round. He could have a fourth round match against Daniil Medvedev and the Serb is in the same quarter as No.3 seed Alexander Zverev. If he makes the semis it’ll probably be Jannik Sinner waiting for him.
So as the dust settles on the draw ceremony what have we learned? Iga Swiatek has what on paper looks like a difficult draw if she is to make it four successive women’s titles in Paris. She could play Emma Raducanu in the second round, then either Elena Rybakina, Belinda Bencic or her nemesis Jelena Ostapenko in the last 16 (the Latvian leads their head to head 6-0). The Pole is in the same quarter as in-form Italian and Rome champion Jasmine Paolini and she’s in the same half as top seed Aryna Sabalenka.
Here are the projected men's quarter-finals by seedings:
[1] Sinner v [5] Draper
[3] Zverev v [6] Djokovic
[4] Fritz v [8] Musetti
[2] Alcaraz v [7] Ruud
Early news from the men’s draw and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will open against Japanese star Kei Nishikori.
Top seed Jannik Sinner will play Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech in his first match.
Playing his final Roland-Garros, Richard Gasquet faces fellow Frenchman Terence Atmane. Gasquet could play Sinner in the second round.
Young Brazilian Joao Fonseca draws Polish seed Hubert Hurkacz.
Big women’s first round matches include:
Belinda Bencic v Elena Rybakina
Paula Badosa v Naomi Osaka
Zheng Qinwen v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova
Looking further ahead, defending champion Iga Swiatek could meet British former US Open champion Emma Raducanu in the second round.
It was all eyes on where four-time champion Iga Swiatek would fall in the draw as the fifth seed and she’s been placed in the same half as top seed Aryna Sabalenka. They could meet in the semifinals if they make it that far.
Projected women’s quarterfinals
[1] Sabalenka v Zheng [8]
[4] Paolini v Swiatek [5]
[6] Andreeva v [3] Pegula
[7] Keys v [2] Gauff
