Iga Swiatek and the power of positive thinking
Starting out
It was my dad’s idea, he always liked the sport and wanted his daughters to play. I remember I was a very lively child, I was everywhere, curious and eager to play. I couldn’t wait to get on the court (I often had to wait my turn while my sister played). My dad wanted us to try lots of different sports. At school, I very often joined the boys and played football. When I was younger, I wasn’t that passionate about tennis. I didn’t watch any matches, I just played. But when I took part in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time, that changed. I realised it was a cool way of life and something I would like to focus on.
