Another match that proved to be just as memorable despite its sad outcome. After almost two sets and 3 hours and 13 minutes of closely-fought play, Alexander Zverev had to retire from his match against the King of Clay after suffering a serious ankle injury. Hobbling back out on crutches a few minutes later, Sascha received a standing ovation from the spectators on Philippe-Chatrier court.
