The traditional Roland-Garros charity day, renamed Yannick Noah Day in 2023, has raised a record €320,735 this year, making it a resounding success. More than 23,000 spectators joined in the fun at what has become an unmissable part of the tournament.

Plenty to do and see throughout the stadium

A wide range of activities and introductory sessions took place throughout the day at the Stade Roland-Garros in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. A marching band, jugglers, the Quatuor Yako music group and other performers provided entertainment in the walkways.

During Jannik Sinner, Caroline Garcia and Coco Gauff’s practice sessions, the ‘Play With a Kid’ event gave a few children the opportunity to play with their idols, after catching one of the balls hit into the stands at the beginning of the session.

The ‘Play on Roland-Garros Clay’ activity, sponsored by ENGIE, allowed spectators to step onto Court 2.

The highlight of the day took place on Court Philippe-Chatrier between 2-3pm. Gaël Monfils, Yannick Noah and Jordan Thompson put on a show and played a doubles match with some of the ball kids. They were mic'd up to share their emotions with the public. Many more exhibition matches featured the likes of Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alex De Minaur.

The Square des Serres pulled in the crowds

There was something for everyone at the Square des Serres, just behind Court Simonne-Mathieu, with a range of innovative activities. Visitors could take part in an umpiring event or try out the traditional smash corner while enjoying the friendly atmosphere among musicians and DJs.

Nearby, on the forecourt of Simonne-Mathieu, visitors could try out the ‘Chatrier Experience’, a brand-new activity by Orange, and step into the shoes of a player entering Court Philippe-Chatrier at the start of a match.

Proceeds donated to charitable initiatives

The proceeds of this charity day, launched in 1977, help fund initiatives led by FFT-affiliated clubs for young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, adapted sport tennis, tennis for health, disability tennis, and environmental initiatives with the Solidarity and Environmental Action Trophies. The funds will also be used to support the Fête le Mur association.
