While the top seeds produced some sparkling tennis in Paris on Monday, the quality from two players in particular on Day 9 will be remembered for a long time.

The world No.361 Lois Boisson is now a household name here in France after the wild card stunned third seed Jessica Pegula in a Court Philippe-Chatrier thriller during the afternoon.

And later, Kazakh world No.62 Alexander Bublik played one of his best ever matches to beat fifth seed Jack Draper, guaranteeing himself a first Grand Slam quarterfinal in the process.

Frenchwoman Boisson’s win truly is the stuff of dreams. A wild card playing her first Grand Slam draw now with four match wins - two against seeds - and a quarterfinal to look forward to at her home major.

Her reward is a meeting on Wednesday with No.6 seed Mirra Andreeva who beat good friend Daria Kasatkina in straight sets at the start of the day.

Second seed Coco Gauff started her fourth round test impressively, racing into a 5-0 lead before eventually finishing off Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-0, 7-5.

She’ll play fellow American and Aussie Open winner Madison Keys who recorded her 11th consecutive Grand Slam win by beating another player representing the stars and stripes, Hailey Baptiste.

One man who knows a thing or two about winning streaks is Novak Djokovic, who cruised past Cameron Norrie to record a mind-boggling 100th Roland-Garros victory.

The Serb must next get past third seed Alexander Zverev on Wednesday. The German had an easier day at the office when his opponent, Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, retired injured with Zverev leading 6-4, 3-0.

Top seed Jannik Sinner produced yet another sparkling display during the night session, overwhelming Andrey Rublev 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 for his 18th major match win on the bounce. He gets the inspired Bublik in Wednesday’s quarterfinal.

The tenth day of main draw tennis on Tuesday will burst into life at 11am Paris time when the first men’s and women’s quarterfinals will be decided.

Aryna Sabalenka’s meeting with the woman that beat her in Rome recently, China’s Zheng Qinwen, as well as Carlos Alcaraz’s showdown with Tommy Paul are perhaps the two that promise the most drama.

Alix Ramsay previews the three matches during the day session with Sabalenka-Zheng opening play on Chatrier at 11am. Alcaraz-Paul will be the night match at 20:15 local.

The wheelchair events will begin across the RG courts on Tuesday after the draws were made during Monday afternoon.

Two Japanese stars headline the singles events - Tokito Oda is men’s top seed and Yui Kamiji sits at the top of the women’s drawsheet - with both hoping for more success on the Paris clay.

In the Quad singles draw, the two to beat are Dutchmen Niels Vink and Sam Schroder.
