Alcaraz breezes into semis

Carlos Alcaraz wraps up a comprehensive victory over Tommy Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 with his most impressive performance of the tournament so far.

He's got two days off now, and it puts the Spaniard into Friday’s semifinals where he’ll renew his rivalry with Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti, the player he beat in the Monte Carlo final and Rome semifinals this spring.

Wednesday’s quarterfinals in the top half of the men's draw will feature Jannik Sinner against Alexander Bublik and Novak Djokovic facing Alexander Zverev.

Women's quarterfinals continue with Coco Gauff taking on fellow American Madison Keys and French wild card Lois Boisson hoping to continue her fairytale run through the draw against Mirra Andreeva.

And Carlos makes it two...

In the blink of an eye Carlos Alcaraz goes up two sets to love - 6-0, 6-1 - and it's safe to say, so far, this isn't the match anyone was expecting. The Spanish defending champ has just been too good. It's difficult to see how Tommy Paul can get himself back into this one unless something extraordinary happens.

Alcaraz serves up a bagel

Carlos has come to play, and the defending champion races through the first set 6-0. This is high level stuff from the four-time Grand Slam champion who probably knew he had to find another level tonight against an opponent as dangerous as the American. It’s been one-way traffic so far…

An hour away...

There's no singles action at the moment but we don't have to wait long for the next quarterfinal when defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is back to play American 12th seed Tommy Paul. That one's under the Chatrier lights. Here's a lovely promo video to set up the evening session...

RG semifinal for Musetti

It's a first Roland-Garros semifinal for Lorenzo Musetti who gets past Frances Tiafoe in four sets 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 and it was that third set that proved to be the key.

Musetti matches his run at Wimbledon last year to continue what's been an incredible European clay swing for the 23-year-old.

The 8th seed has made a final in Monte-Carlo, and now semifinals in Madrid, Rome and here in Paris. He's currently in 5th spot in the Race to Turin (the battle for one of eight spots at the season-ending ATP Finals) and has won 18 of his last 21 matches. Forza.

Musetti a set away

Lorenzo Musetti wins a big third set to take control of his quarterfinal against Frances Tiafoe on a breezy Court Philippe-Chatrier. The Italian's late surge puts him ahead 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 and a set away from his first semifinal in Paris and his second journey into the last four at a major after reaching the same stage at Wimbledon last summer. Can he finish the job?

One set apiece on Chatrier

Lorenzo Musetti jumped into a one-set lead with a solid 6-2 first set - it was a slow start from Frances Tiafoe in his first Paris quarterfinal. 'Big Foe' played a great second set, however, to level 6-4 and right now this quarterfinal is anyones. It's turning into a fascinating battle full of clay-court artistry. De Groot major win streak ends

Four-time Roland-Garros defending champion Diede de Groot is out in the first round of the women’s wheelchair singles as she loses to China’s Li Xiaohui 6-2 6-4 on Court 13.

De Groot was returning to Grand Slam tennis for the first time since Wimbledon last year and brought a 52-match winning streak at the majors into the Paris slam.

The Dutchwoman famously won 15 consecutive Grand Slam titles between the 2021 Australian Open and Wimbledon last year.

It’s her first defeat at a major since 2020 at Roland-Garros.

Swiatek-Sabalenka semifinal set

Iga Swiatek sets up a big semifinal with world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka by beating Elina Svitolina 6-1, 7-5 in the second quarterfinal of the day on Chatrier.

The Ukrainian raised her level in the second, but lost serve at 5-5 to let slip her grip on the set.

Iga extends her RG win streak to 26 matches. Her overall win-loss record here is now 40-2. She last lost in Paris in the 2021 quarterfinals against Maria Sakkari.

Sabalenka into semis

Aryna Sabalenka becomes our first singles semifinalist with a 7-6(3), 6-3 victory over Zheng Qinwen in just under two hours on Chatrier. That was a blockbuster quarterfinal played in tricky, breezy conditions and once the world No.1 had snagged a tight opening set it always felt like the match was more likely to end in her favour.

The top seed has now reached a staggering 11 Grand Slam semifinals from her last 14 majors. That’s why she’s in the rankings penthouse.

She’ll play either Iga Swiatek or Elina Svitolina in the semis on Thursday - they’re next up on Chatrier.

Rapid recap of Day 9

The fourth round concluded last night with a businesslike No.1 seed Jannik Sinner getting the job done over Andrey Rublev under the lights on Chatrier.

The story of the day was French wild card Lois Boisson, who defeated No.3 seed Jessica Pegula - a whopping 358 ranking places above her.

Lee Goodall was kept busy - he gave us a flavour of Boisson’s win and what it means, and summed up the rest of the day's action in his Daily Wrap.

Welcome to Day 10

We're into double figures now at Roland-Garros 2025.

It's quarter-final time and we have two men's and two women's singles matches today - all on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The action kicks off at 11:00 when No.1 seed Aryna Sabalenka faces Chinese Olympic gold medallist Zheng Qinwen.

Day 10 - Match of the day session: Rome revenge

Defending champion Iga Swiatek faces Elina Svitolina after that, before the final match of the day session sees Lorenzo Musetti up against the USA's Frances Tiafoe.

Dan Imhoff gives us an insight into what's driving Svitolina as she contests her 12th Roland-Garros.

A tasty night session beckons as the USA No.12 seed Tommy Paul will try to stop the charge of defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Alex Sharp recently sat down for a coffee and a croissant with Paul's coach Brad Stine.

Elsewhere around the grounds, the men's and women's doubles are at the quarter-final stage, and the men's and women's wheelchair singles get started, with stars incluing Tokito Oda, Diede de Groot and Alfie Hewett all in action.
